Stockbridge Meeting House Invites Public to Celebrate Its 200th Anniversary on September 12
The historic Stockbridge Meeting House will celebrate its 200th anniversary with a free community celebration on Saturday, September 12, from noon to 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend this special event honoring two centuries of community, history, and tradition.
The festivities will feature children’s games, square and contra dancing with live traditional music, and refreshments served throughout the afternoon. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy activities that celebrate the spirit of community that has defined the building for two centuries.
“This party is an opportunity to celebrate the Meeting House and its importance in our community life,” organizers said. “We hope residents, neighbors, friends, and visitors from throughout the region will join us for this celebration.”
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome. You may want to bring a chair!

o Create your own corn husk doll.
o Play checkers, hopscotch or marbles.
o Run in a relay or sack race.
o Play old timey games like ball and cup or Jacob’s Ladder.
o Learn how to stencil.
2:00 – 4:00 Live Music, square and contra dancing
FREE food: sausages, mac-n-cheese, baked beans, cookies, crisps,
beverages, and more will be served to all throughout the day!
